Should You Choose an 18mm Watch Strap?

Measuring Your Watch

First, you need to measure the width of your watch's lug—the part of the watch case where the strap attaches. Most watches have this measurement printed on the back of the watch or in the manual. If not, you can easily measure it yourself with a ruler. Simply measure the distance between the two lugs on either side of your watch case. If this measurement is 18mm, then you need an 18mm watch strap.

Rule of Thumb (or Wrist…)

An 18mm strap is generally perfect for watches with smaller, more refined dials, typically between 36mm and 40mm in diameter. It’s a common size for dress watches and those with a more classic design.
