Often you will see Rubber watch straps described as silicone watch straps or FKM rubber watch straps but what is the difference?

FKM rubber watch straps sometimes known as fluorine rubber or fluoro-rubber, FKM stands for Fluorine Kautschuk Material. They are used in many high end watch straps supplied by big brands. FKM Rubber is more rigid and heavier than silicone watch straps and is often considered superior quality to silicone watch straps.

Silicone Rubber Watch straps are made from silicone rubber and are lighter, softer and more flexible. These properties are perfect for watch straps and high quality silicone watch straps can be as good as FKM rubber watch straps.
