Wrist Envy Exclusive Epsom Leather Watch Strap

Elevate your timepiece with a genuine Epsom leather watch strap, made exclusively by Wrist Envy.

This is not an off-the-shelf watch strap. Every strap has been produced specifically by Wrist Envy to our own specifications, combining premium Epsom leather with a luxurious Zermatt leather reverse, substantial 6mm construction and an elegant 20mm-to-18mm taper.

Epsom leather is instantly recognisable for its distinctive fine-grained texture and structured appearance. Its refined embossed grain gives the strap a sophisticated, understated luxury that works beautifully with both classic and contemporary watches.

The underside is finished with genuine Zermatt leather, chosen for its exceptionally soft feel and comfortable contact against the wrist.

Each strap comes complete with a spare colour-matching leather keeper, included as standard. This way you can decide to keep the two tone colour look or switch to a colour matched option.

Made Exclusively by Wrist Envy

We wanted to create something different from the standard leather watch straps available elsewhere, with an approach inspired by our custom made, handcrafted leather watch straps.

These straps have been made exclusively by Wrist Envy, using our own specifications for the dimensions, construction, taper and leather combination.

The Leather – Genuine Epsom Premium Leather

Epsom is one of the most distinctive leathers used in the luxury leather goods world, and it features prominently in our range of full grain leather watch straps.

Its signature feature is its fine embossed grain, which creates a crisp, highly consistent texture across the surface. It is chrome-tanned for durability and has high resistance to scratches and stains. Compared with Togo leather and Clemence, this gives Epsom its instantly recognisable appearance, a lighter weight, and a stiffer, more structured feel while preserving the color strength it is known for.

The leather is particularly appealing for watch straps because it combines a refined appearance with a more structured feel than many softer, smooth leathers. It also takes bright dyes uniformly, producing vibrant colors that remain vivid for years without fading. It does not develop a patina over time, which helps it keep a consistent, refined appearance.

Why Epsom Works So Well on a Watch

The structured grain of Epsom gives a watch strap a clean, sophisticated appearance, creating clean lines on the wrist while adding subtle texture to the overall look of the watch, especially when compared with other replacement watch straps in different materials and constructions.

It works particularly well with polished stainless steel, brushed cases and precious-metal watches, and because it is lightweight compared to other leathers, it stays comfortable for daily wear whether paired with a classic dress watch or a modern luxury timepiece, as we often highlight on our watch strap blog about elevating wristwear.

Unlike very soft, unstructured leathers, Epsom holds its shape permanently without sagging, retains a crisp appearance and stays low maintenance in regular use.

Luxurious Zermatt Vegetable Tanned Leather Reverse

We've paired the Haas Epsom exterior with a genuine Zermatt leather reverse, a combination that sits comfortably alongside other designs in our curated watch strap collections.

Zermatt is renowned for its exceptionally soft feel and is ideally suited to the inside of a premium watch strap. It provides a smooth, comfortable surface against the wrist while complementing the structured Epsom leather on the outside, and sits alongside other premium options in our wider Wrist Envy watch straps collection.

This combination gives the strap a luxurious feel from both sides, making it an excellent complement to our range of leather Apple Watch straps:

Epsom on the outside. Zermatt on the inside.

Q&A – Epsom Leather Watch Straps

What is Epsom leather?

Epsom is a distinctive luxury leather, with unique characteristics such as a structured texture and consistent embossed grain, recognised by its fine embossed grain, structured feel and elegant appearance. Its textured surface gives it a sophisticated character that has made it particularly popular in high-end leather goods, and epsom leather good for items like wallets and bags. By contrast, Togo leather is softer and more relaxed in appearance. Epsom was introduced in 2004 as the successor to Courchevel leather.

What makes Haas Epsom special for Hermes bags?

The combination of Haas leather quality and Epsom's distinctive embossed grain gives the strap its refined appearance, consistent texture and structured character.

It is a leather chosen as much for its understated luxury as for its practical qualities.

Is Epsom good for watch straps?

Absolutely. This is why it also appears in epsom leather bags and other daily-use accessories from luxury brands, including hermes bags. Its structured nature and distinctive grain make it particularly well suited to premium watch straps. It gives the watch a clean, luxurious appearance while adding texture without being overly flashy. With basic care, Epsom can last well over a decade.

Is Epsom leather waterproof and can it be cleaned with a damp cloth?

No leather should be considered completely waterproof. While Epsom offers good resistance to everyday moisture, prolonged exposure to water should be avoided. That said, waterproof is different from easy care, and Epsom leather is best maintained by dusting it first with a dry cloth, then wiping it with a damp cloth when needed. Regular cleaning with a dry cloth helps remove surface dust before it builds up. It does not require frequent conditioning, and a thin layer of leather conditioner every three to four months is sufficient. For tougher marks, use a little mild soap and avoid harsh chemicals. For longer-term care, store the strap away from direct sunlight for extended periods to help preserve its finish and color.
